snow yeah!
At last its snowed here, everything is that magical white and the sky is a gorgeous blue. I know lots of people don't like snow because it makes their lives a little bit more difficult but I love it when it snows, probably because growing up in cornwall it only snowed about twice when I was a kid. The only down side is I want to go sledging rather than do any work ho hum.I have escaped guildford on the past too weekends the weekend before last to do computer upgrading, sadly enough quite enjoyable, followed by a good staurday night out and the opertunity to demonstrate my complete lack of skill at pool. And last weekend to a friends 30th in bath, great food, lots of drink, good company alround a great evening. Only a slight headache the following morning although this was not aided by my walking ino a very solid beam first thing in the morning.Bath definitely still stands as a special place to me, I think I'd like to live there again sometime.Getting away has helped me get a bit more inthusiasm up for work. I have developed a new plan for dealing with the mountain of papers building up in my office (100's of the damn things). insetead of trying to read them in depth and really understand each one I am going to try and start reading them as I read novels, get a sense of what their saying but don't sweat the details. My sub-consious should absorb more information this way, its very good for physics type problems and mulling things over in the back of ones mind. I often suddenly realise the answr to something I am working on while doing something entirely unrelated.I just need to improve verbal reaction time and body langueage reading ability, both of which I think have a strong element of subconscious thought in them. By verbal reaction time I mean things like comebacks, teasing and flirting all of which about ten minutes after I should have said something funny, flirty whatever, I think of the prefect thing to say by which time it is too late and to try and say it then would just make you look stupid. Particularly a problem with flirting as my inability to read body langueage often means a five ten minute delay before I realise I should have been flirting.I think I'll start reading some books of quoteations stock up on other peoples wit and use good quotes as tactical conversation weapons.Ah to work, I wana go play in the snow.

Hey! Don't worry about the 100's of papers - just look at the meta analysis! As for the bit about being funny and flirty - don't worry. By our age what a lot of women want is not that type of guy (who they may have had bad experiences with that type of guy who was funny on the surface but a bastard underneath) but someone just like you, who's genuine and nice. Maybe if you want someone 5 or more years younger than yourself....PLUS most men actually have the dilemma of not knowing whether someone is interested but this again is ok. In Britain the beauty of it is that the woman generally makes the move.just increase your exposure and you'll be in there mate.Is it still snowing? I'm jealous!!
I read a book on body language once, and it really helped me second guess people a bit. I mean, it doesn't make you a mind reader, but it does help. It is also great fun for when you are sitting in pubs, because you can look at strangers and think, "Listen lady, I know you really like him, but you've got to back off a little. You're making him feel uncomfortable, just look at the way he's crossing his arms." Endless hours of people watching fun!
It might be interesting to read up on body langueage and as you say pub people watching sounds like an interesting game.I have heard of this technique called cold reading I'd be quite curious to learn more about it is apparently what most fortune tellers use knowingly or not to illisit information from people, supposedly scarily effective.
Always listen to your advisorNo not still snowing we only had the one night, but I get quite excited about snow, all gone now back to cold and clear. The only pitty with the turn in the weather is that it has pretty much killed all the blossom that was on the trees here which is a shame as it was starting to look like spring and we're back to winter again now

It hasn't killed the blossom in Bristol so clearly our blossom has evolved to be tougher stuff! There's a fair few rough looking catkin trees though.
